Next to a groomer, a polar vortex could be considered a snowmobilers best friend. What a fantastic year for riding. Our groomers, Josh Lassa, Mike Sievers and Jeff Van Dreel deserve a big thank you for all of their dedication and hours of service. This is a big undertaking for guys who have full time jobs and try to maintain a section of trail that is a state corridor. Not to mention the amount of local traffic our trails get due to the population density we have compared to smaller towns. Please thank them when you see them next.
We also gained a number of new families this year as well as families that have been members in the past. The dedication through education of how our sport works is what makes us stronger. This level of support is what led to successful passage of CAP/STEP!!! Read more about CAP/STEP.
If you’re new to the club and not sure how involved you want to get… there are some opportunities coming up. First, our landowners event for the fall. We will be looking for donations for the baskets we raffle off during the event. A small donation for a basket would be an excellent way to still help the club. Please consider helping in anyway you can with this!! This is one of our most important functions we host.
We will also have an opportunity for anyone interested in taking care of a section of trail. Our goal is to break up some of the sections of trail we have so there is less of a commitment for any one person. We have group leaders already, we can even connect you with someone as a helper.
On Thursday April 10th, come out to the Chat-R-Box (https://goo.gl/maps/R9jeg) for the monthly club meeting. We will be discussing CAP/STEP, needed equipment, trails and the summer picnic (Hint – River Party).
In closing, I hope everyone can find a small way to become involved with the club as they are able. The trail system that we are responsible for maintaining and protecting depends on our commitment.
