Did the loop through Kellner, Almond and Plover last night with a group of club members. Plover to Kellner was groomed last night and all the Tri-County SnoDrifters and Almond Sno-Eagles trails we hit were either groomed recently or freshly groomed. Flat, fast and plenty of snow! Get out early because this weekend is going to be busy!!!
Stopped at The Fuel Stop in Almond and had an outstanding handmade pizza. If you’re looking for a new place to stop this weekend I recommend giving them a try.
This morning I was treated to a nice view of a parhelion or “sun dog”. These commonly form in very cold weather as tiny ice crystals for and drift around in the air. The tiny bits of ice refract the low angle sunlight and the halo is formed.

REMINDER! Trail is Detoured for Special Olympics Polar Plunge
Due to the Special Olympics Polar Plunge this Saturday Feb. 8th, the trails around Anchor Bay will be DETOURED starting at 8:00 AM on Thursday, February 6 and will remain DETOURED until 8:00 AM on Tuesday, February 11.
Please use the alternate trail along Huffman Road.
Snowmobile parking will be allowed ONLY on the river! Do not even try to get any closer. For safety reasons the area around the bar and boat launch will be closed off.
Multi-Club Social at Ponderosa Pines
We have put together the first Multi-Club Social at Ponderosa Pines Pub, Eatery and Campground at 1:00pm on Sunday February 9th.
There is no agenda or expectations. And nobody has to work anything!!! Just an afternoon of getting to know our neighboring clubs and their members. So far the Rome Sno-Bandits, Kellner Knights, Almond Sno-Eagles, Plover Spuds and Tri County Drifters have committed to be there. This should be a fun afternoon of sharing stories and ideas between clubs. You can come by sled, car or truck.
If you would like to ride over there as a group, we are going to club ride over to Ponderosa Pines. We will leave the trail head across from The Store at 11:30am and proceed to Ponderosa Pines. It would be nice to roll in there as a large group…how many can we get? Any questions you can leave them in the reply section below.
