Wood County trails remain open at this time but are in poor condition. If you do venture out take it easy. What snow is left is hard and mostly ice mixed with bare spots.
All zones in Portage County are closed except for zone 1 which is west of I-39 and north of the river.
Rough frozen slush is being reported on the Wisconsin River so be careful out there.
Lake Wazeecha has a lot more ice shacks than past winters and there are some large snow piles and many plowed roads out there. With the amount ice fishermen out there you can bet the DNR will be out there on occasion so give the shacks plenty of room. Remember what the law says.
Operation near person not on snowmobile/dwellings.
Any time you are within 100 feet of any pedestrian or ice fishing shack, you must reduce your speed to 10 mph or under. Between 10:30 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., you must reduce your speed to 10 mph or less within 150 feet of any dwelling.
